Effective September 27, 2014, Dyan Foss is the global managing director of CH2M HILL’s Nuclear Sector in the Environment & Nuclear Market where she is responsible for delivering CH2M HILL’s outstanding service and streamlined delivery excellence to our commercial and public sector nuclear customers worldwide. Dyan Foss has more than 24 years of program management experience in nuclear and hazardous waste cleanup.
Most recently, Dyan Foss provided leadership and support to all of CH2M HILL’s cleanup projects in North America including the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (EM) in her role as Senior Vice President of CH2M HILL’s North America and Asia Liabilities Management business. She was also responsible for client interface, project and technical issue resolution and for multi-site resource allocation, and managed project delivery for our NNSA business.
Previously, Ms. Foss was the Deputy Managing Director for the Dounreay Nuclear Decommissioning Program in Scotland, U.K.
She also managed the soil and groundwater remediation project at the Hanford nuclear site in Richland, Washington for 4 years, where she was responsible for managing a $300M annual budget within the soil and groundwater lifecycle contract costs of $1.2B, and more than 650 staff. She was responsible for the remediation of approximately 80 square miles of groundwater contamination across the Hanford site, which involved the operation of 6 pump and treat system, 2 passive barriers and extensive use of the Remedial Process Optimization tool to achieve difficult regulatory targets set primarily due to the site’s proximity to the Columbia River
Dyan’s previous roles include working as the British Nuclear Group Head of Program Delivery End State at Sellafield Nuclear Reprocessing Site in England, U.K.; senior management integrator, project manager and negotiator at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site; and quality assurance manager at various sites including the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
