Linda R. Bauer serves as director of Transformation for Consolidated Nu-
clear Security, LLC.
Before accepting her current position, Bauer was acting senior vice pres-
ident and deputy general manager of Y-12, with responsibility for the
Production; Facilities, Infrastructure, and Services; Engineering/Design
Authority; and UPF Integration organizations.
Previously, as vice president and division director of FI&S, she was re-
sponsible for all aspects of facilities management and maintenance at the
five-million-square-foot site. With a work force of 1100, FI&S covers the
utilities, roads and grounds, and all services in support of the 300 build-
ings throughout the site.
Before her time at Y-12, Bauer was senior vice president for Los Alamos
Technical Associates, Inc., where she provided executive-level direction
and support. While maintaining that role, she served as commissioning
manager for the Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride Conversion projects in
Piketon, Ohio, and Paducah, Kentucky. She also served as project manager
for LATA’s $525-million Portsmouth Environmental Restoration Project at
the Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon.
In earlier assignments, Bauer served as president of Babcock and Wilcox
(B&W) Savannah River, where she was responsible for all K Area opera-
tions. In her tenure with B&W, she has held senior management assign-
ments associated with the Savannah River Site; Nevada Test Site; Depleted
Uranium Hexafluoride Conversion Plants; the Mound Plant in Miamisburg,
Ohio; and company-owned facilities near Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, and
Bauer earned a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Memphis,
an M.S. degree in health physics from Purdue University, and a Ph.D. in
environmental health physics, also from Purdue.
